Right here in Ramat Beit Shemesh?

For women only?

And for FREE?!

Join me for 2 hours of gardening at the Educational Farm, Ramat Beit Shemesh.

We will be building, weeding and maintaining vegetable growing beds. We will be using serious tools, such as pitchforks, hoes, and wheelbarrows.

Be ready to work hard! Forget going to the gym – this is the real deal!

(However, we will not be doing heavy lifting. Only work suitable for people in normal levels of fitness)

Who? Women only, aged 16+

Can I bring my kids?: No. The farm will not allow entry of children to this event. This is not negotiable.

Why? Because it’s good to be alive!!! and also… we want to discuss the possible launch of a Women’s Community Farm here in RBS. I will make a brief presentation about my ideas for the farm when we break for fruit and ice tea in the middle!

FAQS:

Q: My kids will love this. Please, please can I bring them?
A: Sorry.  The farm will not allow entry of children to this event. This is not negotiable. Q: What is the Educational Farm of Beit Shemesh?
A. It is a large beautiful tract of land operated by the Ministry of Education, which hosts a large number of school groups and special ed groups from around Beit Shemesh for enriching farming activities. The farm is not generally open to the public or to groups of adults. I am working to create a unique opportunity for women. If this speaks to you, join us! Q: Who is running this? And why?
A: The event is organized by Naomi Elbinger of Bloomah’s City Farm, RBS, in conjunction with the Educational Farm. The goal is to give local women the opportunity to get closer to nature, learn about farming, and eventually grow their own food. Q: Can I come for part of the time?
A: Yes, but please only come if you are looking to seriously work for an hour at least. Q: Where is this educational farm?
A: It’s at the intersection of RBSA, RBSG and Ramat Avraham. Easy access by bus, or a 10 minute walk from the RBSA Merkaz. There is also a parking lot on site. See map. Q: Why on earth would I want to get all sweaty laboring on a farm for free when I could be at the mall getting a manicure?
A: If you’re asking this question, this event is probably not for you. However, we still love you! Enjoy your manicure! Q: I love this idea so much!!! How can I help?
A: Contact Naomi. She’ll put you to good use 🙂 Q: I would love to participate but can’t make it at that time. What should I do?
